An Azure Cloud Engineer is a specialized IT professional who focuses on designing, implementing, and managing solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. They play a critical role in helping organizations leverage cloud computing to enhance efficiency, scalability, security, and reliability.
General Accountabilities
- Monitor the ticketing queues to ensure resolution is accordance with defined service level agreements.
- Maintain a ‘transparent’ relationship with internal teams and customers.
- Understanding of Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Enterprise Patching, file, and printing services.
- Resolving application issues across IaaS/PaaS/SaaS.
- Interpreting and maintaining systems documentation.
- Provide root cause analysis of reported incidents.
- Staying current with the latest Azure services, features, and industry best practices.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, security, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with business processes.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for cloud architectures, procedures, and training materials.
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of IT experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience on Azure platform administration.
- Experience working and understanding Azure Monitoring tool and Dashboards.
- Experience on VDC (Virtual Data Centre) to create Data Center on Azure using HUB-Spoke Model.
- Expertise on maintaining on Azure platform service like but not limited to Active Directory, RBAC (Custom Roles), PIM, Virtual Machine, Storage, vNet, NSG, DDoS, Network Watcher, Firewall, Azure Policies, Security Center, Log Analytic Workspace, Automation Acct/ Runbooks/ DSC, Data Factory/ IR, Update Management, Event Grid/Hub, AKV, User Defined Route, WebAppGateWay, Load Blancer, Traffic Manager, CND, etc.
- Experience supporting systems by optimizing performance, resolving production problems, and providing timely follow-up on reported problems.
- Experience with monitoring systems and troubleshooting concepts.
- Developing and deploying infrastructure that meets enterprise requirements for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Implementing and managing security measures, including identity and access management (Azure Active Directory), encryption, network security groups, and Azure Firewalls
- Implementing cost-saving measures and recommending improvements to existing architectures.
Experience &Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in related field.
- AZ104 – Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred), training required.
ITSM certification preferred, ITSM foundation training required. - AZ500 - Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (preferred)
- AZ305 - Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred)
- Fluent English language skills required: verbal and written communication.
- Fluent English language skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including teleconference and web conference.
- Ability to make decisions and resolve incidents.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to Management, team members and customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite.
